How to Edit a Window Tint Pattern in CORE | Node Edit Tool Tutorial
In this PPF tutorial, I'm installing a pre-cut PPF kit on the front bumper and front lip of a 2024 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. This is definitely not your typical one-piece bumper installation! Between the bumper and front lip, we're installing a total of 5 pieces with 7 seams. The ZL1 bumper has a lot of sharp angles, bends, air dams, and complicated areas that require careful positioning. Getting this kit lined up correctly takes some patience and focus, and I walk you through the entire installation. We start below the left headlight and work our way across the bumper, showing how I position the pieces, work out some very large fingers, create the seams, and wrap the PPF around the many edges of this bumper. I also show you a useful PPF trimming trick when we find an area of the pre-cut kit that's slightly too long. Instead of trying to trim the film while it's hanging loose, I squeegee the PPF directly onto my squeegee. This gives me something solid to support the film while I make the cut. We then lay the trimmed section back down and it fits perfectly. It's a simple trick, but it's a good one to have when a pre-cut pattern needs a small adjustment during an installation. We finish everything up by wrapping the remaining edges, trimming around the side marker, installing the PPF on the black front lip, and completing the final seam. 2024 Camaro ZL1 Front Bumper PPF Install - 5 Pieces & 7 Seams!
In today’s window tinting tutorial, I show you how to tint the extremely difficult rear window on a **1986 Porsche 944**. This rear glass is challenging enough that I decided to install the window tint in **two separate pieces**, placing the seam directly on one of the factory defroster lines so it blends in as cleanly as possible. Installing rear window tint in multiple pieces is a bit of a **lost art**. Modern window film shrinks so well that we rarely need to use this technique anymore, but there are still certain vehicles and difficult rear windows where a multi-piece installation can be the best solution. In this video, I walk through the complete process of **hand cutting both pieces of tint**, determining where the overlap and seam need to be, heat shrinking each section individually, thoroughly cleaning the rear glass, installing both pieces, and then carefully creating and finishing the seam. We also cover how to work around the rear wiper hole, how to heat and secure the edges after installation, and some of the small details that help make a difficult two-piece tint installation look as clean as possible. How to Tint a Difficult Rear Window in 2 Pieces Porsche 944 Window Tint Tutorial
In this PPF tutorial, I'm installing a CORE pre-cut PPF kit on the front bumper of a 2025 Subaru BRZ tS. This bumper is definitely a challenge, and you get to watch me struggle with part of it! We start by removing the PPF from the peel board, positioning the pattern, and working through the large amount of stretch required across the center of the bumper. I explain the placement, stretch, and how I'm dealing with the fingers as we work the film into position. Then we get to the difficult areas around the air dams. The right side kicks my butt. I fight with the film trying to get everything laid down properly around the recess. Instead of hiding the struggle, I left it in the video because there's something useful to learn from it. When I move to the left side, I change the order in which I tack and stretch the film. That side goes MUCH better. You'll be able to see both approaches and hopefully learn from what gave me trouble on the first side. From there, we finish the bumper by working the PPF into the remaining areas, creating a seam below the air dam, wrapping the edges, heat sealing everything, and trimming around the Subaru emblem and side marker. 2025 Subaru BRZ Front Bumper PPF Install | Learn From My Struggle!
Can you install carbon fiber PPF over a real carbon fiber hood? In this video, I show the complete installation process on one of the most challenging hoods I've worked on. Today we're installing carbon fiber paint protection film on a real carbon fiber hood for a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. This hood is especially challenging because it has six recessed vents and a large center scoop that require careful stretching, trimming, and edge finishing. The customer purchased this hood online, but unfortunately it arrived with some minor shipping damage that wasn't discovered until after the return window had expired. One unexpected benefit of the carbon fiber PPF is that it helps disguise those imperfections while adding protection to the hood. Throughout the installation, I walk through the entire process—from the four-corner tack and squeegeeing the hood, to working the film into each vent and the center scoop. We finish by wrapping and heat sealing all of the edges. At the end of the video, I also discuss what I'd do differently if I installed another hood like this, including whether PPF primer might help improve adhesion in some of the deeper vent areas. Carbon Fiber PPF on a Carbon Fiber Hood?! (Step-by-Step Installation)
In today's window tint removal tutorial, I teach my son Gavin how to remove old window tint from an SUV. We cover the complete process of removing tint from the rear window, front door windows, and front wing windows using one of the safest and easiest removal methods. Instead of immediately reaching for a steamer, we use the solar peel method. First, we spray the glass with our slip solution, cover the tint with plastic to trap the moisture, and then let the vehicle sit in the sun for 30–45 minutes. The combination of heat and moisture softens the adhesive, allowing the tint to peel off much more easily. In this particular installation, the adhesive stayed on the film instead of the glass, making for an incredibly clean removal. You'll also learn a trick that can save a lot of frustration when removing tint from wing windows. Rather than fighting with a plastic bag that won't stay tucked into the rubber seals, I show you how we use our plotter cutter to cut disposable tint patterns that fit perfectly over the wing windows. It's a simple trick that makes the entire removal process easier. Window Tint Removal for Beginners - Remove Tint Without Leaving Glue
Installing PPF on Porsche 911 headlights can be intimidating because of the extreme stretch—but one simple trick makes the install much easier and helps eliminate stretch marks. In this step-by-step paint protection film tutorial, I show how to install PPF on the oval-shaped headlight of a Porsche 911. The biggest challenge on these headlights is the amount of stretch required to conform the film to the lens. In this video, I demonstrate my favorite technique for preventing stretch marks by first tacking the film to the fender above the headlight, then stretching it down and securing the bottom before completing the rest of the installation. We cover the complete installation process from sizing the film and making the initial tack points to trimming and heat sealing the edges. How to Hold Your Squeegee for Even Pressure | PPF Tip
Leave Extra PPF in the Recess In this clip, I’m positioning the PPF on a Lotus Evora GT front bumper and making sure to leave a little extra material in the recess before squeegeeing it out. That extra material is important because it lets the film lay into the recessed area without being under a bunch of tension. If you stretch the film too tight across areas like this, it may look good at first, but that tension can lead to lifting or failure over time.
